Hannah Cifers will tangle with a bull in the form of Brianna Van Buren at UFC Raleigh.
The latest addition to UFC Raleigh in January will feature women’s strawweights throwing down. First reported by MMA Junkie, Hannah Cifers will face Brianna Van Buren at the Fight Night event. Cifers also confirmed that she was appearing on the card, poking a little fun at opponent Van Buren, nicknamed ‘The Bull.’

Van Buren (9-2) is the winner of six straight, including her UFC debut back in July. That came against former Invicta FC standout Livia Renata Souza at UFC Sacramento. Prior to entering the promotion, Van Buren won Invicta’s single-night Phoenix Series 1 tournament, defeating three opponents in a night to claim the 115lb title in the process.
Cifers (10-3) has won two straight, against Polyana Viana, and most recently opposite Jodie Esquibel at UFC 241. Those wins brought her to 2-1 in the promotion, after Cifers lost her debut against Maycee Barber in a gutsy effort last year. Overall, she’s 7-1 in her past eight fights.
UFC Raleigh (UFC Fight Night 166) will be the promotion’s inaugural trip to the North Carolina city. Headlined by Junior Dos Santos throwing down with Curtis Blaydes, the card also features the debut of Frankie Edgar at bantamweight, against Cory Sandhagen.
The show takes place January 25, 2020 at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC.
