UFC Mexico City will play host to the return of former bantamweight challenger Bethe Correia, against flyweight-turned-bantamweight Sijara Eubanks.

As first reported by MMA Fighting, Brazil’s Bethe Correia (10–4–1) will return to action this September, taking on Ultimate Fighter 26 veteran Sijara Eubanks (4–3) at UFC Mexico City. The bout will be Eubanks’ second in the UFC at bantamweight, and first since a Fight of the Night effort against Aspen Ladd in May. For Correia, it’s also her first fight back since May, and UFC 237.

Both fighters were defeated in the most recent outings, and will look to bounce back in Mexico City, numerically UFC Fight Night 159. Eubanks lost to Ladd in a unanimous decision. That marked the second time Aspen Ladd had got the better of her, with the first coming outside the UFC in Invicta FC. Correia, meanwhile, was submitted by Irene Aldana in the third round at UFC 237. Complicating matters, Correia missed weight for the fight, coming in at 141lbs.

Correia, who infamously taunted Ronda Rousey by beating two of her “Four Horsewomen” on way to a title shot in 2015, has just one win since 2014, a split decision victory over Jessica Eye at UFC 203 in 2016. During that span, she has losses to Aldana, Rousey, Holly Holm, and Raquel Pennington, plus a draw with Marion Reneau.

UFC Mexico City takes place September 21, 2019 at the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico. Two other bouts have been reported for the event thus far: Alexa Grasso vs. Carla Esparza at strawweight, and the returning Brandon Moreno vs. Askar Askarov at flyweight.
