Prediction

As this is clearly a grappler vs. striker fight it’s a tough one to pick because a lot is unknown about these two. Meeks played Division 1 football for Northern Illinois University as a tight end. He is more well-known in wrestling being a top-five finisher at the US Open in Greco Roman and was ranked on the Olympic ladder. Meeks has encountered no issues getting the fight to the mat, but it has been against poor competition. Like Meeks, Castro hasn’t fought stellar competition either. I’m sure if Meeks can get it down once, he’s staying there because he’s a big guy with solid ground-and-pound. It’s unknown how his takedowns will look against a better fighter as he could very well walk into a bomb from Castro. It’s a close fight but my pick is Meeks just because I’ve seen Castro taken down before.
