Conor McGregor protégé and training partner Dillon Danis picked up a win on the Bellator 222 main card over Max Humphrey.
Dillon Danis is one of the grapplers in the world, despite only being 1-0 in MMA. The submission fighter is mostly known for his friendship with former UFC champion Conor McGregor, however, he’s as legit as it gets on the ground. Danis picked up his first win last year, defeating Kyle Walker via toe hold at Bellator 198. Danis is a multiple-time IBJJF champion in no-gi grappling.
Max Humphrey on the other hand, is going into his Bellator debut as a 3-2 fighter. Humphrey in his last outing lost to Anthony Goldfield in July of last year via TKO, prior to that he beat David Nieto-Clark via submission at Walkout FC 9.
Dillon Danis got the fight to the ground quickly, and got on top quickly. Danis then started landing some ruthless ground and pound, prompting the referee to warn Max to defend himself. Danis then began to look for a rear-naked choke, but couldn’t initially get it. After Max defended the choke well, Danis then began to look for an armbar, and despite defending well for a while, Danis earned the submission win.
Love him or hate him, Dillon Danis is now 2-0 as a professional fighter, both being incredible submission wins. After the fight, he called out Rory MacDonald and Jon Jones while claiming he is the best in the world.
