Titan FC veteran Rico Farrington will get a shot at the UFC when he takes on Daniel Rodriguez on the Contender Series in July.

The big hit show, Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, is back for a third season this summer. It’s approaching soon as contracts have been sent out and many fights have already been confirmed. Sources have now confirmed to Cageside Press that a welterweight bout between Daniel Rodriguez and Rico Farrington will go down on July 30.

Fighting out of Alhambra, California, “D-Rod” Rodriguez holds a professional record of 8-1. With one loss as a pro and amateur (6-0 as an amateur), Rodriguez is now on a four-fight win streak. The 32-year-old trains out of 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu out of Los Angeles, California.

Rodriguez has fought for smaller promotions like CFX and KOTC, but most of his career fights have been with Combate Americas. He has also fought once for Bellator winning via TKO in round two.

Standing across from Rodriguez will be “The Triggerman,” Rico Farrington. Fighting out of Miramar, Florida, but born in the Bahamas, Farrington has a 7-2 record. Since a pair of losses at the beginning of his career, he’s hit a stride and is now on a six-fight win streak.

Farrington has fought mainly for smaller regional promotions besides his last bout for Titan FC a well-known promotion on UFC Fight Pass. In that bout, he beat Michael Cora, a veteran of the Contender Series. The 29-year-old trains out of MMA Masters with top fighters around the world.
