Born in Berwyn, Illinois, Jose’s parents put him in martial arts as a kid to learn how to defend himself. Mariscal was 18-1 as an amateur with 17 finishes. He was the IMMAF National Champion and the IMMAF World Champion with four other amateur titles of his own. “Chepe” begun his professional career in October of 2014 and started off his career at 3-0. After a loss to current UFC standout Gregor Gillespie, Jose made the move down to featherweight from lightweight. One of his three losses is to another current UFC fighter, Bryce Mitchell, in what was a close decision. Since then, he is 3-0-1, and his competition throughout his career has been very good. Jose has fought for the likes of Ring of Combat, Victory FC, and Legacy Fighting Alliance.
