With the weigh-in complete, all twenty-six fighters from UFC Philadelphia faced off ahead of Saturday’s big show on ESPN!
The UFC Philadelphia weigh-in is in the books, and there’s nothing left but the fights Saturday night at the Wells Fargo Arena. The card promises to be a violent affair, which should go without saying — mixed martial arts is a combat sport after all, right? Why state the obvious. Yet the pairing of Justin Gaethje and Edson Barboza brings something special. There’s an atmosphere in the air when Gaethje fights, and he certainly looked focused heading into Saturday’s main event.
With all fights a go (and only Ray Borg missing weight), the UFC had the full card face-off Friday morning, giving fans one last look at the fighters before they got in the cage. It was a casual affair, without any real drama, and a sweet moment between Karolina Kowalkiewicz and her opponent, who she referred to earlier in the week as an idol, Michelle Waterson. The pair actually hugged it out before the fight. We’ll have to see if that feeling remains afterward (though if we were betting, it probably will).
