After years of trash talk, and fights falling through, we may finally see Michael Page face Paul Daley, as the two dangerous British strikers are set to appear as part of Bellator’s welterweight grand prix this coming February in Connecticut.
Finally. Barring any unforeseen circumstances (that sound you hear is knocking on a very large piece of wood), Paul Daley and MVP are set to clash. On Friday during the Bellator 210 broadcast, the promotion announced that Daley and Michael Page were set to meet in February at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. The fight will, of course, be part of Bellator’s welterweight grand prix.

Taking place February 16, there’s no word on whether the fight is officially the main event, though that seems likely. The date does not yet have an event number attached to it, though it’s expected to be Bellator 215, given the January 26 show in L.A. is Bellator 214. No other fights were announced for the card on Friday.
A skilled kickboxer and highly unorthodox striker, Page (13-0) has remained perfect in his MMA career thus far. The British fighter is coming off a win over David Rickels at Bellator 200 over the Summer, where he pummeled the ‘Caveman’ to the point of retiring from the fight early. Page also holds notable wins Ricky Rainey (now employed by the UFC), Fernando Gonzalez, and Cyborg Santos — whose skull he literally crushed with a flying knee.
Daley (40–16–2), who had his own highlight reel flying knee knockout under the Bellator banner against Brennan Ward a couple of years back, has been trading wins and losses of late. Most recently, he was grinded out by Jon Fitch at Bellator 199. Prior to that, however, he knocked out Lorenz Larkin at Bellator 183.
Page and Daley have long been at odds, a feud which included a brief skirmish at a Bellator show in 2017. With the fight years in the making, and with neither man known for their ground game, fans will be expecting fireworks at the Mohegan Sun next year. The card takes place February 16, 2019.
