The UFC’s most recent trip to New York City goes down tomorrow, and on Friday, all fighters hit the scales in advance of UFC 230.

UFC 230 saw the promotion back in the Big Apple. The UFC’s annual New York card at Madison Square Garden, the event had come together last minute, thanks to the loss of Nate Diaz vs. Dustin Poirier, and the addition of Daniel Cormier facing Derrick Lewis. Cormier, always the company man, was stepping up to save the card frankly, putting his heavyweight title on the line against Lewis.

Lewis, of course, saw his stock skyrocket after a late victory at UFC 229 against Alexander Volkov.

Also on the card, New York’s own Chris Weidman, originally scheduled to face nemesis Luke Rockhold. After Rockhold, like Poirier, fell off the card due to injury, Jacare Souza was bumped up to face the former champion.

At Friday’s weigh-ins, it was smooth sailing until Brian Kelleher hit the scales. Weighing in just past 9:30 AM EST, he came in at 137, a pound over the bantamweight max. Having used a towel, whether he could cut the extra pound remained to be seen. Sijara Eubanks was next, and without question, her trip to the scale was disastrous. Coming in at 127.2 with a barrier, it was an instant reminder of the title shot that fell through for Eubanks following TUF 26.

Weighing in with thirty minutes to go, heavyweight title challenger Derrick Lewis had no issues, coming in just under championship weight. Daniel Cormier, who weighed in much earlier in the morning, was just over 250lbs meanwhile, well south of the 265lb title fight limit.
