ONE Championship Announces Tokyo Event Next March, 2019 Schedule

ONE Championship continues to expand throughout Asia, as the promotion announced Thursday that it will make two trips to Tokyo, Japan in 2019, plus stops in China and South Korea.

On Thursday, Asia’s ONE Championship announced its debut in Tokyo, Japan. At a press conference attended by numerous ONE officials and athletes, the company unveiled that it would make the trip to Tokyo next March. In addition, the company unveiled its schedule for 2019. Renzo Gracie and Angela Lee were among the ONE athletes at the event.

“Japan has a rich martial arts culture and history, and ONE Championship has been planning for a very long time to bring our authentic martial arts experience right here to the fans, deep in the heart of Asia,” Chatri Sityodtong, Chairman and CEO of ONE Championship was quoted as saying at the press conference in a follow-up press release. “Our mission at ONE Championship is sacred, we want to unleash martial arts superheroes unto the world — world-class athletes who ignite passion and hope, and who help weave martial arts into the very fabric of human life. By sharing their stories with the world, ONE Championship aims to change the lives of many through the beauty of sport and discipline.”

In addition to the March date, the promotion will return to Tokyo in October 2019. It will also continue to make stops in China, and will head to South Korea in December 2019.
