Take a look at all the fighters who weighed in for UFC Atlantic City this morning!
The UFC Fight Night 128 (UFC Atlantic City) official weigh-ins took place Friday morning at Bally’s Hotel and Casino. Twenty-six fighters were due to set foot on the scale, though ultimately, a couple didn’t make it. Those were Magomed Bibulatov and Ulka Sasaki. After Bibulatov was deemed unfit to continue, there was no need for Sasaki to weigh in. Their fight was subsequently scratched from the card.
Also off the card on Saturday is Leslie Smith vs. Aspenn Ladd. Ladd missed weight for the fight, coming in at 137.5lbs. Though she had additional time to make weight, her team opted to take the hit. Opponent Leslie Smith, however, on the last fight of her deal, declined a catchweight fight. That made Smith vs. Ladd the second fight scratched from UFC Atlantic City.
More drama would follow. Cutting it right down to the wire, headliner Kevin Lee had just minutes left to hit the 156lb non-title fight lightweight limit. However, he came in one pound over, missing weight with no time left for a second attempt.
Ultimately, the main event will go on. The UFC on Friday confirmed previous reports by Cageside Press and other outlets that Barboza had accepted the fight, and that Lee would forfeit twenty percent of his purse.
In a statement Friday the promotion also tackled the cancelled bouts. In it, they noted that “Due to injury, Magomed Bibulatov was deemed unfit to fight and his flyweight bout against Ulka Sasaki has been canceled. Additionally, in the women’s bantamweight division, the Leslie Smith vs Aspen Ladd bout has been canceled after Ladd failed to make weight.”
