Top prospect Logan Storley makes his main card debut at Bellator 197 this April.
The Bellator 197 card in St. Charles, MO is complete with wrestling standout Logan Storley making his first main card appearance for the promotion. MMA Fighting was first to report Storley’s graduation to the televised portion of the show. With three of four main card bouts featuring some of the promotion’s top prospects, the event will be all about the next generation of stars, with a hotly anticipated rematch in the main event to draw eyes to them.
Storley first came on the radar thanks to his amateur wrestling background, and association as a sort of protege of Brock Lesnar, with both having attended the University of Minnesota. At just 25 and a perfect 8-0 in his career, Storley has won both his Bellator bouts to date. Prior to joining Scott Coker’s family, he competed under the RFA and later LFA banners.
Joaquin Buckley, meanwhile, is 8-1 as a pro, and 3-1 under the Bellator MMA banner. He’s won two straight, and will have home field advantage as a Missouri native. Buckley last fought at Bellator 185, where he took a close split decision against Vinicius de Jesus.
The Bellator 197 televised card breaks down as follows:
Brent Primus vs. Michael Chandler – for the Bellator lightweight championship
A.J. McKee vs. Justin Lawrence
Kevin ‘Baby Slice’ Ferguson Jr. vs. Devon Brock
Logan Storley vs. Joaquin Buckley
Bellator 197 takes place April 13 at the Family Arena in St. Charles, MO. Lightweight champion Brent Primus puts his title on the line against Michael Chandler in a rematch of their Bellator NYC bout from last June.
