Baby Slice is heading to Missouri for Bellator 197!

Kevin Ferguson Jr., better known as Baby Slice, son of the late Kimbo Slice, will get back in the Bellator cage this Spring. He’s set to take on Devon Brock at Bellator 197 in what will be his fourth professional fight. The news broke Thursday, and was first reported by MMA Fighting. As it happens, February 8 would have been Kimbo Slice’s 44th Birthday, and Bellator, the final promotion for which Slice appeared, was sure to honor him.

One would guess that having a fight ready to go for Baby Slice was another way of the promotion honoring the popular heavyweight.

Ferguson Jr. (2-1) has spent his entire pro career to date in Bellator. The twenty-five year old welterweight won a lone amateur fight outside the promotion in March 2016 before jumping to the big leagues later that year. He stumbled out of the gate, losing his debut at Bellator 165, but has won each of his fights since. Both wins came via first round finishes.

Baby Slice is yet another young prospect training under Antonio McKee at Team Bodyshop, alongside names like Aaron Pico, Joey Davis, and A.J. McKee.

Devon Brock (1-0), meanwhile, won his Bellator and pro debut against Khonry Gracie at Bellator 192 in L.A. last month.

Bellator 197 takes place at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri on April 13. Brent Primus defends his lightweight title in a rematch against Michael Chandler in the main event.
