The UFC Charlotte card is complete, with the addition of featherweights Austin Arnett and Cory Sandhagen.

A pair of newcomers have been added to UFC on FOX 27. The UFC announced on Monday that Austin Arnett would face Cory Sandhagen at the event this weekend. The card is headlined by a rematch between Jacare Souza and Derek Brunson at middleweight.

A veteran of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, Austin Arnett (15-3) came up just short on the show, losing a decision to Brandon Davis at DWTNCS 4 in August. Davis would be awarded a UFC contract, making his debut this past weekend at UFC 220. Prior to the Davis fight, however, Arnett had been on an extensive winning streak dating back to 2013. The UFC clearly liked what they saw of him, and Arnett now becomes one of those rare fighters the promotion has signed while coming off a loss, yet not as an injury replacement.

Cory Sandhagen (6-1), meanwhile, most recently competed for Legacy Fighting Alliance. In his last bout in LFA, he defeated Luiz Antonio Lobo Gavinho via TKO within a round. Sandhagen turned pro in 2015 after spending a couple of years on the amateur circuit.

UFC Charlotte (UFC on FOX 27) takes place January 27 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC. In addition to the main event, Dennis Bermudez faces Anre Fili in what promises to be an explosive featherweight battle.
