ONE Championship crowned it’s first strawweight Queen on Saturday!

ONE Championship: Kings of Courage went down Saturday at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia. In the main event, the highly touted Singaporean Tiffany Teo faced China’s Xiong Jing Nan for the promotion’s inaugural strawweight title. Though Teo was favored to capture the title, an upset was brewing.

In the division’s first title fight in ONE, ‘The Panda’ Xiong Jing Nan engaged in a stand-up war with Teo. Making it to the championship rounds, Nan’s overhand right helped her dominate the bout. Ultimately, a barrage of blows knocked Teo down in the fourth, with the ref coming in to wave the action off. With that, Xiong Jing Nan claimed ONE Championship gold, becoming the promotion’s first women’s strawweight championship.

Elsewhere on the card, Shinya Aoki and former featherweight champion Marat Gafurov competed in a grappling contest. Japan’s Aoki would ultimately get the better of the Russian, getting the submission win via rear-naked choke.

In the evening’s co-main event, Indonesia’s Stefer Rahardian relied on his ground and pound to cruise to decision over Muhammad Imran. With the win, Rahardian improves to a perfect 7-0.
