Early prelim action at the TUF 26 Finale featured Gillian Robertson submitting Emily Whitmore. Afterwards, four additional prelim fights aired live on Fight Network (and UFC Fight Pass for those who lacked it).
At Friday’s Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale at the Park Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada, TUF 26 cast members Ariel Beck and Shana Dobson duked it out. Two of the lesser-known fighters on the reality show, Beck and Dobson both found themselves eliminated in the opening round. Not surprisingly, they were paired up at the finale.
While Shana Dobson opted to hold her ground in the center of the cage early Friday, Ariel Beck went to work, opening with three unanswered kicks. It was Dobson, whoever, who hit home moments later with a pair of kicks of her own, including a spinning back kick that landed to the body. Dobson then got her hands moving, forcing Beck backwards on the defensive. Beck then connected with a straight left, followed up later by an inside leg kick. Donson came back with a head kick, and both these women were proving to be game fighters.
With little more than a minute left, we saw the first clinch of the bout, but it was short lived. Both fighters preferred to live in the center of the cage, at range. Dobson continued to look to land high kicks; Beck relied on inside leg and left body kicks.
In the second, Dobson put her power on display again, landing more high kicks, and a knee, and getting her hands firing. Ariel Beck continued to move forward, but had eaten a couple of leg kicks that caused her leg to flame up bright red. Dobson began pressing the action, and a right uppercut followed by a right hook to the throat caused Beck to go down and cover up, ending the action.
