October’s UFC Gdansk, also known as UFC Fight Night 118, has an intriguing featherweight fight on tap. The promotion announced Friday that SBG Ireland product Artem Lobov will meet Andre Fili at the event. The card unfolds in Gdansk, Poland at the Ergo Arena on October 21.
Lobov, who was fast-tracked to stardom thanks to his association with teammate Conor McGregor, will enter UFC Fight Night 118 coming off a loss to Cub Swanson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 108. “The Russian Hammer’ is just .500 in his MMA career thus far, with a professional record of 13–13–1 (1 NC). However, prior to the Swanson loss, he had built a modest two-fight win streak against Chris Avila and Teruto Ishihara.
In Andre Fili, he’ll meet a flashy prospect just hitting his prime. Fili (16–5), however, has struggled to find consistency in the UFC, and has traded wins and losses across his last eight fights dating back to his promotional debut at UFC 166 in 2013. Most recently, the 27-year old is coming off a loss to Calvin Kattar at UFC 214.
UFC Gdansk takes place October 21 live from the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland. No main event has been announced for the card, which will see Polish light heavyweight Jan Błachowicz take on Devin Clark.
