Joshua Pacio to Defend ONE Strawweight Title Opposite Keito Yamakita At ONE Samurai 5

ONE Championship’s focus has strayed from mixed martial arts in recent years, but one of its longstanding MMA stars is set to defend his strawweight title this November.

Joshua Pacio (24-5), a three-time ONE strawweight champ, will face off against Keito Yamakita (13-1) at ONE Samurai 5 on November 18, 2026. The event takes place at the EBARA WAVE Arena Ota in Tokyo, Japan.

ONE officials announced the booking on Wednesday.

Pacio, a.k.a. “The Passion,” is 4-1 across his last five fights, with the lone loss being a failed bid to claim flyweight gold opposite Yuya Wakamatsu last November. The Filipino champ returned in July, submitting Mansur Malachiev to defend his strawweight belt. Coincidentally, Pacio’s last four wins have come against just two opponents, as he has defeated both Malachiev and Jarred Brooks on two separate occasions.

19 of Pacio’s victories have come inside the distance.

Keito “Pocket Monk” Yamakita will be fighting at home in Japan come November. A former Pancrase champ, Yamakita has quietly built an impressive resume in ONE Championship, building up a 6-1 record inside the promotion. Picking up submission victories at the first two ONE Samurai shows appears to have punched his ticket to a title shot.

Yamakita holds victories over a pair of ex-ONE Championship title holds in Alex “Little Rock” Silva and Yosuke Saruta.

Fireworks are expected when two of the flyweight division’s fastest rising prospects collide at ONE Fight Night 48, sources tell Cageside Press. Undefeated Hawaiian Joshua Perreira looks to build on an explosive promotional debut when he meets Antonio Cesar on Oct. 2, with both men aiming to take a significant step toward contention inside Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium.

Perreira (6-0) returns to action four months after scoring a devastating first round knockout of Gilbert Nakatani at ONE Fight Night 42. The “Flyin Hawaiian” wasted little time announcing himself to the ONE Championship audience, and now he’ll look to make it two straight under the promotion’s banner when he takes on Cesar at Lumpinee Stadium.

A second straight finish would do more than keep his undefeated record intact. It would put Perreira firmly on the radar as one of the flyweight division’s rising names. Fighting in the iconic Lumpinee Stadium only adds to the moment, giving the Hawaiian another opportunity to prove he belongs on one of the biggest stages in combat sports.

Cesar (14-2) enters the matchup riding an impressive nine fight win streak, including a victory under the ONE Championship banner, and is looking to keep climbing the flyweight ranks. At just 22 years old, the Brazilian has already built an impressive résumé and brings a clear experience advantage into this showdown with Perreira.

For both men, this fight is a chance to make a statement. Cesar has the opportunity to prove he’s ready for bigger names in the division, while extending his winning streak into double digits would only strengthen his case as a rising contender. The featured bout on Oct. 2 has all the ingredients to be one of the night’s most compelling matchups.

Strawweight MMA action hits ONE Fight Night 47 on Sept. 4 from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok as Ryohei Kurosawa meets Fabio Henrique sources tell Cageside Press.

Kurosawa (20-6) will look to snap a two-fight losing streak when he takes on Henrique. The Japanese strawweight enters the matchup following consecutive losses to Keito Yamakita and Bokang Masunyane. Prior to that skid, Kurosawa had put together an impressive six-fight winning streak. A victory over Henrique would provide a much-needed return to the win column and help Kurosawa regain some momentum in the division.

Henrique (15-2) will look to continue his rise in ONE Championship after scoring a stoppage victory over Yosuke Saruta last May. Despite being out of action for well over a year, Henrique enters the matchup with plenty of momentum behind him. A win over Kurosawa would give him back-to-back victories and further establish him as a name to watch in the division.

ONE Fight Night 47 goes down Sept. 4 from Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The card features superstar Stamp Fairtex who continues her return to ONE coming off a split-decision victory over Cynthia Flores in June.

Also featured will be a flyweight muay thai scrap between Jaosuayai Mor Krunghepthonburi and Jordan Estupinan in the co-main event of the evening.

Davi Brandao Debuts At ONE Fight Night 46 Against Viet Anh Do On Aug 14

Undefeated flyweight prospect Davi Brandao is officially set for his ONE Championship debut. Sources tell Cageside Press that the Brazilian standout will take on Viet Anh Do at ONE Fight Night 46 on Aug. 14 in Bangkok, Thailand.

With a perfect record and a reputation as an aggressive finisher, Brandao now gets the opportunity to make an immediate statement on one of the biggest stages in MMA.

Brandao (6-0) signed with the promotion in July following successful runs in regional Brazilian promotions such as Mr. Cage, Skull Champions and Coari Champions. The 20-year-old’s well-rounded game will fit well in ONE’s flyweight division.

Do (6-1) comes off winning a contract at ONE Friday Fights 155 in May. The New Zealand-based fighter, by way of Vietnam, will look to make an immediate impact by spoiling the debut of the incoming Brandao.

Jihin Radzuan vs. Anastasia Nikolakakos Set For ONE Fight Night 45

ONE Championship has added another intriguing matchup to its summer lineup, as veteran contender Jihin Radzuan is set to welcome rising Australian prospect Anastasia Nikolakakos to the atomweight MMA division at ONE Fight Night 45 on July 17.

Radzuan (10-5) enters the contest looking to build on the momentum from her impressive stoppage victory over Gabriela Fujimoto earlier this year. The atomweight has spent nearly her entire career fighting under the ONE banner with victories over Jenelyn Olsim, Itsuki Hirata and Bi Nguyen to name a few.

Nikolakakos (6-0) aims to continue her ascent after announcing herself to the ONE Championship audience with a highlight reel knockout of Victória Souza in her promotional debut. Prior to her move to ONE she competed under the Invicta FC and Combate Global banner, respectively. She’ll attempt to remain undefeated as she takes on one of the more experienced atomweights on the roster.

With both women seeking to establish themselves as legitimate threats in the atomweight ranks, the matchup could create the next contender in the division.

ONE Championship continued their Friday Fights series with ONE Friday Fights 155 which saw Thailand’s Decho Mavinn Muaythai face Russia’s Rustam Yunusov in the main event.

In the main event of The Inner Circle bantamweights Yod-IQ Or Pimolsri took on Kiamran Nabati in a battle of rising Muay Thai stars. Nabati puts his undefeated record on the line against Pimolstri who is riding an impressive 9-fight win streak.

Karen Ghazaryan returns to action at ONE Fight Night 44 welcoming fellow strawweight Hisashi Ezaki to the promotion on June 26 at Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand sources tell Cageside Press.

Ghazaryan (5-1) suffered the first loss of his professional career in his ONE Championship debut this past April, falling to Hiroba Minowa via first-round submission. Prior to the setback, the Armenian strawweight opened his career with five straight finishes while competing in promotions such as Naiza FC and Artsakh FC. Known for his aggressive style and finishing ability, Ghazaryan will now look to bounce back and prove he still belongs among the division’s rising prospects.

Ezaki (7-0) will make his ONE Championship debut against Ghazaryan after finding success in promotions such as ROMAN, Grachan, and Pancrase. The undefeated Japanese prospect brings a heavy grappling-based style into ONE and has built a reputation for controlling opponents on the mat and dictating the pace of fights.

ONE Fight Night 44 takes place June 26 from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. As always, the historic venue should provide an electric atmosphere for one of Asia’s premier combat sports promotions.

Alibeg Rasulov vs. Lucas Gabriel Added To ONE Fight Night 43

Lightweights clash is at ONE Fight Night 43 as Alibeg Rasulov will square off against Lucas Gabriel on May 15 in Bangkok, Thailand, sources tell Cageside Press.

Rasulov (14-1, 1NC), is coming off an unsuccessful bid for the ONE Championship lightweight title, falling to champion Christian Lee at ONE 173 last November. The bout followed their first meeting, which ended in a no contest due to an accidental eye poke. Prior to that setback, Rasulov had been on an impressive 14-fight unbeaten run.

Gabriel (10-1, 1 NC) enters the bout following a decision victory in February. That win came after a previous result in his favor was overturned to a no contest due to a positive test for Furosemide and Betamethasone. The promotion suspended Gabriel for six months which he served, and is now back to action.

Now cleared and back in the win column, Gabriel aims to move past the controversy and reestablish himself as a rising contender.

ONE Fight Night 43 takes place in at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on May 15th. The event will broadcast live on Amazon Prime in the US. The card, as of now, is as follows:

ONE Championship Shutters Women’s Strawweight, Releases Champ Xiong Jing Nan

China’s “The Panda” will no longer fight for ONE Championship, and her entire division has been shut down.

ONE Championship has done away with its women’s strawweight division and released longtime champ Xiong Jing Nan, Cageside Press confirmed on Thursday. The development was first reported by Nick Atkin of the Bangkok Post.

The change only impacts the promotion’s women’s strawweight division in MMA, while the men’s side remains intact, a source familiar with the change informed Cageside Press.

Xiong Jing Nan (19-2), 38, posted an 11-1 record under the ONE Championship banner, including a custom rules bout against Nat Jaroonsak in 2023. She made her debut for the promotion in 2017, and claimed gold the following January. Seven title defenses followed, with her lone loss in the company coming against the since-retired atomweight champ Angela Lee in 2019 (Xiong had defeated Lee when she moved up to strawweight earlier that year).

Xiong last competed against Meng Bo in March 2025, winning a unanimous decision in an attempt to move back to atomweight. She missed weight for the bout, potentially signaling the end of her run with the company, which seems set to focus on atomweight moving forward.

The Chinese star was once one of the most recognizable names on the ONE Championship roster, and boasts 11 wins by KO/TKO among her 19 career victories.

A compelling flyweight clash is set to unfold this spring as Joshua Perreira and Gilbert Nakatani prepare to meet at ONE Fight Night 41. Sources confirmed to Cageside Press that the bout has been added to the April 10 card, bringing together two fighters eager to gain momentum inside ONE Championship’s fast-moving flyweight division.

Perreira (5-0) is coming off a no-contest against Banma Duoji. Duoji initially won the bout on the night, but the result was later overturned after a failed drug test. Perreira now brings his undefeated record into ONE Fight Night 41 looking to continue his rise in the division.

Nakatani (9-3) enters the bout coming off a TKO victory over Eko Roni Saputra at ONE Fight Night 37, a performance that snapped a two-fight losing streak. He was originally scheduled to face Banma Duoji in February, but the matchup was ultimately scrapped before it could take place. With the win behind him, Nakatani now looks to build momentum and continue climbing the flyweight ranks.

ONE Fight Night 42 takes place at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on April 10. The event will once again bring ONE Championship’s global roster to one of the sport’s most historic venues for a night of high-level martial arts action. As of now, the card is shaping up as follows:
