Former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo will continue his run at bantamweight when he meets rising contender Song Yadong at UFC Macau on May 30.

Figueiredo (25-6-1) will look to rebound against Song after suffering a loss to Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC 324 in January. The defeat snapped some of the momentum Figueiredo had built since moving up to the bantamweight division.

After moving up to 135 pounds, he initially put together a 3–0 run in the bantamweight division. Since then, however, he has gone 1–3, with his lone victory during that stretch coming against Montel Jackson in 2025. The skid has frankly ended any momentum at bantamweight, making this upcoming matchup a crucial opportunity to reestablish himself in the division.

Song (22–9–1) hopes to add another former champion to his resume after defeating Henry Cejudo last February. He’s coming off a loss to Sean O’Malley at UFC 324, but at just 28 years old he remains one of the bantamweight division’s most dangerous contenders. A victory over Figueiredo would go a long way toward reestablishing him in the title conversation.

UFC Macau takes place on May 30 in Macau, China. The promotion was last in Macau in 2024. The card, as of now, looks as follows:
