Veteran lightweight King Green is set to test one of Mexico’s rising stars when he meets Daniel Zellhuber at UFC Mexico on Feb. 28. The matchup that pairs Green’s battle-hardened experience against Zellhuber’s size, momentum, and home-country spotlight in front of a passionate Mexico City crowd.
The promotion announced the bout over the weekend.
Green (33-17-1) snapped a two-fight skid with a split-decision win over UFC newcomer Lance Gibson Jr. in December. Despite an inconsistent run, the 28-fight UFC veteran has remained a fan favorite throughout his tenure with the promotion.
Zellhuber (15-3) is on the first losing streak of his career after back-to-back losses to Esteban Ribovics and Michael Johnson. The setbacks followed a three-fight winning streak that had many pegging Zellhuber as a potential next contender in the lightweight division.
