Veteran bantamweight contender Cody Gibson and hard-charging Aoriqileng squared off in a high-stakes clash on Saturday night at UFC Vancouver, a matchup pitting experience against raw aggression in one of the UFC’s most talent-rich divisions.

Gibson (21-11) looks to make the most of his second run in the UFC coming off being a bantamweight finalist at The Ultimate Fighter season 31. He dropped the final against Brad Katona, and has gone 2-2 since then with wins over Brian Kelleher Chad Angeliger. Losing to Da’Mon Blackshear in March he looked to bounce back against Aoriqileng.

Aoriqileng (25-12) has had an up-and-down UFC run, going 3-4-1 thus far. Coming off a decision loss to Raul Rosas Jr. at UFC 306, the all-action bantamweight entered UFC Vancouver in search of a much-needed victory.

Round 1 – Gibson came out firing with a big right hand, and Aoriqileng returned the favor. Then a he answered a Gibson leg kick with a nuclear weapon of a right hand ending the fight in spectacular fashion.

Gibson was trying to establish a rhythm, insert his game plan, but Aoriqileng had other plans for the bantamweight. Statement made in Vancouver!

Massive victory for the Mongolian Murderer, Aoriqileng.
