Hollywood, FL — Light heavyweight Rasul Magomedov of Bahrain earned a unanimous decision victory over Guilherme Viana at PFL Hollywood this past Thursday, improving to 8-0 in the process.
It was an outcome that did not come easily, as Magomedov had to survive an early knockdown and work his way back into the fight. Still, a win is a win at the end of the day, though there will be lessons to take away from the performance.
“I’m very happy with the outcome. There are certain mistakes that I need to work on, I’m going to get home and review everything,” Magomedov told media outlets including Cageside Press following the fight at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. “I won, that’s what matters.”
Asked to give himself a grade, Magomedov went with a B-.
His opponent, Magomedov admitted, wasn’t the easiest to figure out. “He was a little bit awkward, but after the first round I adjusted, and then I started feeling him.”
Moving forward, the 30-year old is hoping for one more fight in 2025. “Of course. Give me an opportunity, I would like to have another fight this year. I’m open to any suggestions,” he stated. A spot in the PFL World Tournament is 2026 is also appealing.
“Yes, absolutely.”
