UFC light heavyweight action is coming to Perth as the main event has been set between #3 Carlos Ulberg and #8 Dominick Reyes.
The UFC announced the matchup on Tuesday.
Ulberg (12-1) will enter Perth looking to make a statement and solidify a title shot with a win over Reyes. The City Kickboxing product is on an 8-fight win streak with his last two coming over Volkan Oezdemir and Jan Blachowicz respectively.
Reyes (15-4) has already fought for the title once before falling to former champ Jon Jones in 2020 in a hard fought loss. After being out of action due to health issues for almost two years he’s made up for lost time with a three-fight win streak.
Victories over Anthony Smith, Dustin Jacoby and Nikita Krylov, all by finish, have set him up in a top 5 matchup in Perth.
With his health in order it seems as though now is the time for Reyes to make another title run.
UFC Perth goes down at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia on Sept. 27th. The card, as of now, looks as follows:
