There was a time not that long ago where Oktagon MMA’s number one contender for their light heavyweight title, Will Fleury, had a long look in the mirror. After spending tons of time, energy and money in training camps only to deal with a broken hand, Fleury was looking at a full year without making any money. He was sitting in Vegas and had to ask himself what he was doing in the sport at this time.

Luckily for all of us, he came up with a pretty damn good answer.

“Okay, you’ve invested this much time and effort in your life to be this guy, this fighter who f*cking considers himself extremely high level and who can go in and beat the f*ck out of anybody,” Fleury said. “That’s still the goal. I want to be considered, by the time I leave this thing, the best f*cking martial artist we’ve seen.”

The Irishman got back to work and put together an insane knockout earning him a title fight this weekend at Oktagon 65. With a renewed focus and purpose in his mind, he now has a new agenda for the coming year.

“What’s 2025 going to be?” he asked. “My whole goal now is create as many holy f*ck moments and show how good of a martial artist I am.”

The first chance to do that is Sunday, but that doesn’t mean that’s the only thing on his mind. Oktagon has a wealth of options in the new year for the fan favorite and there’s one in particular that will help him achieve his goals.

“2025 is going to be all about that. On December 29th, I’m going to go in and create a holy f*ck moment. I’m going to faceplant Karlos [Vemola],” he said. “After that, there’s this middleweight tournament, this Gamechanger thing going on next year – a chance to make a feq quid. I’d love to be able to do that.”

Fleury also kept open the option of defending his potential new title against top contenders should there be rightful ones. In fact, he left almost every option open in the new year, as long as one thing comes true.

“Bottom line answer is – Fleury is going to be creating a shit-load of holy f*ck moments,” Fluery said with a smirk.

You can catch the first of those moments this Sunday when Will Fleury challenges Karlos Vemola for the Oktagon light heavyweight strap. The fight card begins at noon EST and airs on Oktagon.tv.
