Featherweight action is on tap for next month’s UFC 309 in New York, New York.
David Onama will face Lucas Almeida (15-3) at the event, which will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. News of the booking was announced by Iridium Sports Agency, who represent Onama, on Monday.
Onama is 4-2 in his UFC career to date, and comes into the fight riding a two-fight win streak. Most recently, he earned a unanimous decision victory over Jonathan Pearce in April. Of note, Onama missed weight for the fight, coming in at 148.5lbs, two and a half pounds over the non-title featherweight limit.
Lucas Almeida, 2-2 in the UFC, will enter off a decision win over Timmy Cuamba. His other win happens to be over TUF winner Mike Trizano, while his losses have come at the hands of standouts Pat Sabatini and Andre “Touchy” Fili.
UFC 309 is headlined by the long-brewing heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic, and takes place on November 16, 2024. The following match-ups are expected for the Pay-Per-View card:
