Per reports, a bantamweight bout between former champion Petr Yan and top contender Deiveson Figueiredo is targeted for UFC Macau on November 23.
A high stakes bantamweight bout is on deck as multiple reports came out Wednesday morning that former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan will be taking on former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo as a marquee bout for a Fight Night event in Macau on November 23. Leo Guimares was first to report the news.

Yan, 31, snapped a three fight skid in his last appearance when he bested prospect Yadong Song this past March at UFC 299. The victory injected momentum back into the career of “No Mercy” who found himself in unfamiliar territory after having enjoyed a successful ten fight win-streak that saw him stop Hall of Famers Urijah Faber and José Aldo en route to winning the world title. Losses to former champions Aljamain Sterling, Sean O’Malley, and now current champion Merab Dvalishvili have now aged well in hindsight, but the Russian slugger is looking to prove he’s still a title contender with a victory in November.
Figueiredo, 36, is enjoying a resurgence himself after moving up to bantamweight last year. The former flyweight champion went an impressive 20-1 to start his career and claim UFC gold before his now seminal series against Brandon Moreno where he went 1-2-1 against the Mexican star, ultimately dropping the belt and electing to move up in weight class after increased difficulty making the 125 pound limit. Since then, he’s become one of the top contenders for the bantamweight title with victories over Rob Font, former champion Cody Garbrandt, and most recently former title challenger Marlon “Chito” Vera.
The event will take place at the Galaxy Arena in Macau, China.
