One of Canada’s most notable fighters at the moment will be making his bantamweight debut at UFC Edmonton in November.
Charles Jourdain (15-8-1) is set to compete at the Fight Night event on November 2, 2024, where he’ll face Victor Henry (24-6, 1NC). Jourdain, a former TKO featherweight and lightweight champ, will be making the cut to 135lbs for the first time in the fight.
News of the pairing was first reported by SportsNet’s Aaron Bronsteter. UFC Edmonton will take place at the Rogers Arena in Edmonton, Alberta, and is the promotion’s first show in the city since UFC 240 in 2019, which was headlined by Max Holloway vs. Frankie Edgar.
Charles Jourdain confirmed the booking, and weight class, shortly after SportsNet’s initial report.
Jourdain has dropped two fights this year, after winning both his appearances in 2023. In January in Toronto, Jourdain came up short against Sean Woodson in a split decision loss; he was then stopped by Jean Silva at UFC 303 in June.
Henry has wins over Tony Gravely and Ranyi Yahya among his most recent efforts, as well as a no contest in a fight with Javid Basharat. That resulted from a low blow Basharat landed on Henry which rendered him unable to continue.
