It’s arriving in less than two weeks, but Drew Dober at long last has found a dance partner for UFC Denver.
Set to take place at the Ball Arena in Denver, CO on July 13, 2024, UFC Denver will see Dober (27-13, 1NC) face off with Jean Silva (13-2) in a lightweight scrap.
Promotion officials recently announced the booking. Silva was seen fighting this past weekend at UFC 303, making this a very short-notice fight for the Brazilian, who will be moving up in weight.
Dober was initially penciled in against Mike Davis, only for “Beast Boy” to be forced out of the fight. A member of Elevation Fight Team in Denver alongside the likes of Rose Namajunas and Justin Gaethje, Dober has been waiting for a new opponent ever since.
At 2-2 across his last four fights, Dober will be looking to bounce back from a loss to Renato Moicano in February. The popular lightweight has faced some of the best the UFC has to offer, including Islam Makhachev, Beneil Dariush, Bobby Green, Matt Frevola, and others.
Silva picked up a KO victory at UFC 303 in Las Vegas this past weekend, in a featherweight fight. He’s 3-0 since winning his way into the promotion on Dana White’s Contender Series last year.
UFC Denver, a.k.a. UFC on ESPN 59, is headlined by “Thug” Rose Namajunas vs. Tracy Cortez (stepping in for Maycee Barber) in a women’s flyweight fight. The following match-ups have been reported for the card thus far:
