Las Vegas – UFC bantamweight Vinicius Oliveira won his fight at UFC 303 against Ricky Simon, but he came out of it with a leg injury of sorts on Saturday night.
“I feel not so bad. I did my best in this fight, but I kicked so hard in this fight. My opponent made some block and almost broke my leg,” Oliveira told reporters including Cageside Press at his post-fight scrum.
“But I come here prepared for this fight.”
Oliveira (21-3) did have a significant reaction in the second round when Simon checked one of his kicks. The bantamweight confirmed that was one of the kicks in the first round that caused him to have to use crutches following the bout.
“I think (it) happened the first round. I kicked him a lot and I felt (it), but I couldn’t stop (kicking). In the second round I (kept feeling) pain a lot, but I thought in my mind man I need to stop kicking this f*cking guy,” he said.
“But I can’t stop (kicking). When I threw a jab I kicked again so I felt my leg. I couldn’t stop.”
Oliveira had a name ready for who he wants to face in the octagon next.
“I’d like to fight so much with Umar Nurmagomedov. He (is) scared of me right now. He must be watching my last fight here and he knows it’s not easy to put me on the ground,” he said.
“He will refuse to fight against me. He was run away (from) me. He will keep run away (from) me. This guy have no courage to fight against me.”
