Christian Leroy Duncan will now be taking on Gregory Rodrigues at UFC 304 on July 27, 2024 in Manchester, England. The previous matchup of Christian Leroy Duncan against Robert Bryczek, announced back in May, was cancelled after Robert withdrew from the fight. This striker’s delight of a fight is still scheduled for the UFC’s middleweight division.
News of the opponent shift for this bout was first announced Thursday, by Gergory Rodrigues, via his Instagram.
“The countdown begins! Preparing to face my next opponent with everything I’ve got. Watch out!” wrote ‘Robocop’ on the caption of his post.
Gregory Rodrigues (15-5) is 6-2 with the UFC since 2021. A 2020 Contender Series vet, Greogry lost a split decision to Armen Petrosyan in February of 2022. Robocop’s most recent loss was a first-round stoppage against Brunno Ferreira in January of 2023. Greogry has just one victory with the UFC that wasn’t by stoppage, a split decision victory in his debut against Dusko Todorovic. Rodrigues is currently riding a 2-fight win streak, haivng stopped Denis Tiuliulin last August and most recently, Brad Tavares, back in February.
Fighting out of Gloucester, England, Christian Leroy Duncan (10-1) is 3-1 since entering the promotion in 2023. ‘CLD’ has finished all of his UFC victories thus far, against the likes of Dusko Todorovic, Denis Tiuliulin and most recently, Claudio Ribeiro, back in March. The former Cage Warriors middleweight champion’s sole career loss came last June at the hands of Armen Petrosyan by unanimous decision.
