With so much turmoil in MMA and particularly the UFC this past week, it was easy to forget that there was a fight card on Saturday, UFC Vegas 93, back at the UFC Apex.
Well, that’s understandable. The “is he or isn’t he” status of Conor McGregor, rumored to be out of his UFC 303 main event, leaving that card in shambles (the latest update, McGregor vs. Chandler potentially pushed back to August or September, per Ariel Helwani). Then there was the UFC Saudi Arabia situation, with that card, like UFC 303, coming later this month. On Thursday, word arrived that Khamzat Chimaev was out, and Ikram Aliskerov in against Robert Whittaker.
UFC Vegas 93? An afterthought headlined by Alex Perez vs. Tatsuro Taira at flyweight, in Taira’s first main event booking for the company.
Weigh-ins for the card went down Friday in Las Vegas- results can be found below!
One fighter’s weigh-in ended in disaster on Friday, as the last man to hit the scales Tagir Ulanbekov, came in at 129.5lbs, a full 3.5lbs over the flyweight limit.
