The UFC’s July 13 Fight Night event has added a promising featherweight fight to its line-up.
The event, expected to take place in Denver, Colorado, will see Julian Erosa take on Christian Rodriguez. Iridium Sports Agency, who represent Erosa, recently announced the news on social media.
“Juicy J” Erosa (29-11) is on his third stint with the promotion and coming off a win over Ricardo Ramos. Since returning to the company in June of 2020, Erosa has posted a 6-3 record, with wins over Ramos, Hakeem Dawodu, and Charles Jourdain among others.
The Ramos win snapped a two-fight skid that saw Erosa stopped by both Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres and Fernando Padilla.
Christian Rodriguez (11-1) is 4-1 under the UFC banner and hasn’t lost a fight since his promotional debut, which saw him lose a decision against Jonathan Pearce after replacing Austin Lingo.
Since then Rodriguez has notched wins against Raul Rosas Jr. and Cameron Saaiman, two fellow highly touted prospects. Both of those wins, however, were marred by the fact that “CeeRod” missed weight for what would have been bantamweight bouts. Rodriguez returned to 145lbs in his last fight as a result, narrowly winning a split decision over Isaac Dulgarian.
The UFC Denver card on July 13 is expected to be headlined by Rose Namajunas and Maycee Barber. The following match-ups have been reported for the card:
