Los Angeles, CA – Following BKFC KnuckleMania 4, Mick Terrell remains the promotion’s undisputed heavyweight champion.
The bout didn’t end how anyone wanted, with double-champ Lorenzo Hunt going down due to injury early, his arm clearly dislocated. Not the way anyone wanted to see the fight end, and certainly not Terrell, who improved to 10-1 in bare-knuckle with the win.
Now, a fight with UFC alum “Big” Ben Rothwell, who defeated Todd Duffee at KnuckleMania 4, looms.
“If ‘Big’ Ben Rothwell’s the next match, that’s the next match. It doesn’t matter who it is,” Terrell told media outlets including Cageside Press following Saturday’s event at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. “I just turn up. Ben Rothwell needs to cut down to 2-6-5 though.”
When Rothwell retorted, from the back of the room, that “it’s a number, it doesn’t matter,” Terrell responded by saying “stop being chunky” before pointing out that Rothwell was snacking. “He’s busy eating the pizza. He’s busy eating the pizza right now! Save us a slice,” Terrell said with a laugh.
Aside from Rothwell, Mark Hunt’s name has been bandied about, while “The Gypsy King” Tyson Fury was also brought up backstage Saturday. As unlikely as that might seem, Fury was seen in the ring with former UFC champ Francis Ngannou not too long ago.
“Tyson Fury, Gypsy King. I mean if I could get Tyson Fury, that would be great. If I can get that fight, it would be a great fight,” stated Terrell. “I look up to Tyson Fury, I think everyone does, he’s that big. If I can get that fight, that will be a great fight. if I get Mark Hunt, it’s great, if it’s Ben Rothwell, I’m in.”
“I don’t care who it is or where it is, just give us a contract and I’m in.”
One other name was thrown Mick Terrell’s way on Saturday: UFC interim heavyweight champ Tom Aspinall, a fellow Brit.
“I don’t know much about Tom Aspinall, I’m not an MMA follower. Obviously I’ve seen him,” noted Terrell. “He’s a big kicker and a big puncher. I dare say if I went MMA, he’d snap my arms off. If we boxed, I’d have a good chance I think.”
