Los Angeles, CA – Mike Perry spent all of a minute in action at BKFC KnuckleMania 4 before putting away Thiago Alves. That means his post-fight appearance lasted longer than the main event bout itself.
Following the latest win by “The King of Violence,” Perry (5-0 BKB) explained to Cageside Press what headlining the KnuckleMania 4 card meant to him.
“I talked my sh*t because I knew I was going to get in there and fight regardless of the outcome. I was going to get in there and do what I do,” said Perry. “Whether I take the hits, I take them like a man, I keep coming forward, I hit back, and motherf*ckers don’t like it when ‘Platinum’ hits back. Talk is cheap, but I talked before. I screamed before.”
Noting that the fans tend to cheer for “exciting, adrenaline-filled type stuff,” Perry added that after putting in his work for the night, he had “had tons of energy left over for everybody else in the building. I’m smashing sh*t, and I’m letting it be known. Because, why else [would you] do this?”
Perry was sure to give props to American Top Team, where Alves trains and coaches. “They’re big in south Florida, and I’m a central Florida guy, so we’ve been fighting against them for a long time.”
Following his victory at KnuckleMania 4, Perry called out Darren Till, which he has done in the past. It’s a fight he wants, and he believes Till wants it too.
“I think that fight is something that a lot of people have wanted for a long time. Including me and him. And he’s talking big sh*t, he’s talking his sh*t, but he ain’t doing nothing. I’m talking sh*t and I’m out here doing it. He say he in the gym or whatever, he working, and Khamzat [Chimaev, Till’s training partner] is undefeated. But he’s over there in the MMA world chasing that gold.”
“I’m better than gold. I am the gold over here,” added Perry. “I’m above it. I’m platinum.”
