Atlantic City – UFC strawweight Virna Jandiroba was so happy following her decision victory over Loopy Godinez at UFC Atlantic City on Saturday night that she showed it to the media.
“Thank you so much, I feel good,” Jandiroba sang to reporters including Cageside Press at her post-fight scrum.
“I feel so good! I’m not here by accident. I’m here because I am a hard work(ing) (for) 20 years. I deserve this. I deserve it.”
“Even as I came into the UFC I already fought a former champion right away. I’ve been ready since day 1 and I think all I’m missing right now is a little goodwill from the UFC. Just let me fight fighters that are above me because I’m ready,” Jandiroba said through a translator.
“I’m ready to face any of the girls that are above me. If they let me I know that I’m going to do well.”
With the UFC returning to Brazil pretty soon Jandiroba has a chance to go home and fight, but the strawweight isn’t sure that makes sense for her.
“If it was like, let’s a say an opportunity to fight for the belt, of course (I’d) be there no matter what,” she said.
“But I know that if I get a fight there it’s going to be a late replacement and there’s no fight in there that really makes a lot of sense that it’s going to put me ahead in the rankings so right now I’m going to sit, keep training, get better, and wait for an opportunity to climb up the rankings.”
