Atlantic City – Following a controversial ending in his fight at UFC Atlantic City Nursulton Ruziboev detailed the finish over Sedriques Dumas on Saturday night, and called his shot for who is next.
“As far as I can remember I got him with the uppercut first. Once I got him with the uppercut he already went to his eye to show that his eye was hurting,” Ruziboev told reporters including Cageside Press through a translator at his post-fight scrum.
“Then as I was distancing myself away from it maybe there was some of sort of a slight thing, but it wasn’t something that I noticed. I know that I got him with the uppercut first and that’s exactly when he went for his eye.”
Ruziboev (34-8-2) finished Dumas with a barrage of strikes. It followed Dumas grabbing his face and complaining of an eye poke.
With his bout at UFC Atlantic City behind him now Ruziboev looks ahead, and named who he wants to face next. Gerald Meerschaert.
“There’s only three Uzbek fighters and one of them was beaten by Gerald Meerschaert so I want to revenge that loss, and I want to show that Uzbek fighters are not weak,” he said.
“I am training with (Andre) Petroski. I am training with Joe Pyfer, and those guys have been (in) there with him. I have them as sparring partners, I have them as books of knowledge that I can read before I got into that fight.”
