Bellator MMA, now Bellator Champions Series, kicked off a new era on Friday with Bellator Belfast, its first event under new owners PFL.
With the promotion touching down in Belfast, Northern Ireland, two titles were on the line. In the main event, the promotion’s vacant light heavyweight strap was up for grabs, having been dropped by Vadim Nemkov as he made the move to heavyweight.
Vying for the title were Corey Anderson, who twice faced Nemkov, with the first meeting ending in a No Contest and the second in a decision loss, and Karl Moore.
In the co-main event, Patricio Pitbull, pretty much the face of the promotion in recent years, faced Canada’s Jeremy Kennedy with the Brazilian’s 145lb title on the line.
