Brian Rose and Apichit Pimsen will clash for the IBA Intercontinental Super Middleweight title on June 8, 2024 in Qatar. It serves as a significant undercard bout to the main event featuring a clash that has been years in the making. In that main event, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson will make his pro boxing debut against former lineal and WBO heavyweight champion Shannon ‘The Cannon’ Briggs.
Rose has a lot of connections to the former UFC light heavyweight champion headlining the card and the roots run deep between the two.
‘Rampage’ let him stay at his house rent-free in the past and has helped Rose out tremendously over the years. Rose said he’ll never forget that and mentioned how Jackson was still helping him out by introducing him to the promoters (SDK and Hossama Khan) of this event. In addition to helping get him on this card, Rose is working with Rampage’s team a lot ahead of this event.
Surprisingly but also understandably, Brian Rose is also riding with Rampage in this fight which is kind of curious in the context of these MMA vs Boxing crossover fights. Usually, you have boxers predicting boxers will win and the inverse for MMA fighters watching mixed martial artists in these bouts but Rose’s loyalties to Rampage’ clearly run deep.

Also of note is that he is coming out of retirement for this outing after a bit over two years since his last professional contest. ‘The Lion’ has held English and intercontinental titles as well as holding the Lonsdale belt outright. Rose has contended for world titles and looks to add to his legacy this Summer. Brian Rose has previously fought names like Sergio Martinez, Matthew Macklin, Demetrius Andrade, and many more.
Brian Rose is still doing it at this level at 39 years old. Looking to win titles and represent Blackpool on the global stage as he always has. This marks his 42nd pro fight and 20 years as a pro boxer overall.
Rose said, “[I’m] thankful for the opportunity but I’m looking to put on a real good show. Hopefully, there’ll be future fights on QSM promotions when I do the job on the night. I’m going to do it in spectacular fashion.”
Rose is a fighting father with multiple kids who got into the game as a boy himself. On his journey in the sweet science, he lost his first few amateur fights and his dad asked him if he really wanted to do it. Rose really did and the reformed mischievous kid began finding great traction in the sweet science which has led him to this point today.

As far as what he expects from this looming performance, Rose suggested “Well, a real masterclass. You know I am technically very good. I had over 90 amateur fights, I boxed for England. I boxed all over the world as an amateur and then turned pro at 20. So I am well schooled.”
“So expect to see an absolute master class on the night. If the knockout comes, great, which I think it will. If it doesn’t then I can promise a proper show, you know, a proper boxing lesson.”
In conclusion, Rose also stated, “I’m going to train my absolute ass off to be in the best physical condition. So I can put on a show for the people in Qatar.”
