The UFC hit the ground running in Miami this week, bringing with it a star-studded card that has the potential to be one of, if not the, best of the year in UFC 299.
Headlined by Sean O’Malley vs. Marlon Vera in a rematch, this time with bantamweight gold on the line, UFC 299 had so much more. A little something for everyone, if you will. The co-main event was a violence fan’s dream, with Dustin Poirier facing Benoit Saint-Denis in a five-round lightweight affair. Also on the main card, the debut of Michael “Venom” Page, one of Bellator’s biggest stars, against Kevin Holland, ex-bantamweight champ Petr Yan versus Song Yadong, and former title challenger Gilbert Burns taking on rising welterweight star Jack Della Maddalena.
The UFC 299 card is so deep, in fact, that former lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos finds himself on the prelims, against ex-KSW star Mateusz Gamrot. Curtis Blaydes vs. Jailton Almeida is there as well; names like Michel Pereira, Joanne Wood, and Ion Cutelaba didn’t even make the televised prelims.
Ahead of UFC 299 on Saturday, the key players assembled for the traditional pre-fight press conference. What will Sean O’Malley and Chito Vera have to say ahead of their grudge match, with Vera representing the lone loss on O’Malley’s record? Find out in the live stream above!
