Mexico City – For UFC bantamweight Raul Rosas Jr it’s a dream come true to fight in Mexico where he will face Ricky Turcios at UFC Mexico City on Saturday night.
“It’s a dream coming true. Going to be able to perform in front of family that can’t go watch me in the US. Fighting in front of then means a lot to me,” Rosas Jr told reporters on Wednesday.
Rosas Jr will face Turcios who is coming off a split-decision victory, but that win was back in November 2022. Even with the long layoff Rosas Jr respects his opponent at UFC Mexico City.
“I’m happy with this fight. He’s another prospect as well. He’s The Ultimate Fighter champion. Winning this fight is going to take me big places,” he said.
“I just know a lot of big things are going to come my way winning this fight on Saturday night.”
Turcios is a fan favorite, but his skillset and toughness still brings challenges for Rosas Jr in the octagon.
“He’s a tough fighter, he’s good, so it’s going to be a war. I’m ready for anything to get my hand raised on Saturday,” said Rosas Jr.
