UFC Vegas 86 was a questionable card on paper that got off to a rough start at the UFC Apex on Saturday, when a foul-filled fight between Daniel Marcos and Aori Qileng ended in a No contest.
A couple of finishes ensued, then a lull of sparring-like decisions arrived before promotional newcomer Carlos Prates woke fans up with a blistering knockout of Trevin Giles. Prates, alongside fellow preliminary card knockout artist Bogdan Guskov, was among four Performance of the Night bonus-winners at UFC Vegas 86.
Luckily for fight fans, the Fight Night event’s main card offered a fair bit more action than its opening act. Another two bonus winners arrived there, with Dan Ige topping things off. “50K” lived up to his nickname and earned just that care of a crushing knockout of fellow fan fave Andre “Touchy” Fili. With the KO, Ige earned his third victory in four fights and returned to the win column.
The final Performance of the Night bonus at UFC Vegas 86 was awarded to Rodolfo Vieira, who opened the main card with a submission victory over Armen Petrosyan. The arm-triangle choke came as no surprise, given Vieira is an ADCC champ and has won four fights via the technique in the UFC alone.
All four bonus-winning fighters will pick up $50,000 for their efforts on Saturday.
