UFC Atlantic City has its first fight officially announced by the promotion.
Joining a previously reported (but not yet announced) women’s strawweight match-up between Virna Jandiroba and Loopy Godinez, top women’s flyweights Erin Blanchfield and Manon Fiorot will face off at the Fight Night event.
UFC CEO Dana White announced the news in a video message released on social media on Thursday. UFC Atlantic City takes place on March 30, 2024 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. It marks the promotion’s first trip to the New Jersey city since April of 2018, where Kevin Lee vs. Edson Barboza headlined.
White was clearly bullish on Blanchfield vs. Fiorot, noting that “neither one of these women has lost a fight in four years. That is such a badass match-up.”
Both Manon Fiorot and Erin Blanchfield are in contention for a title shot at 125lbs, though a trilogy fight between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko is likely to arrive first.
Manon Fiorot (11-1) is on an 11-fight win streak with six victories under the UFC banner. Most recently, she spoiled ex-115lb champ Rose Namajunas’ flyweight debut.
Erin Blanchfield (12-1) also boasts a win over a former strawweight champ, having defeated Jessica Andrade. In her last fight, “Cold Blooded” Blanchfield won a decision over former title challenger Talita Santos.
