Las Vegas, NV – UFC lightweight Nasrat Haqparast looks to end 2023 with a victory over Jamie Mullarkey at UFC Vegas 83.
“I think Jamie’s a good fighter. His nickname is ‘Hooligan’ and I’m excited for (a) big, big fight on Saturday. I am coming for violence,” Haqparast told reporters on Wednesday.
“This I guarantee.”
Violence is a pretty good prediction with both Haqparast and Mullarkey having been involved in wars before.
“I don’t like to predict fights because a fight is a fight. Always 50-50. Maybe he’s going to be different. From his last recent fights we saw he’s a little bit gun shy. He got dropped from (John) Makdessi,” Haqparast said.
“He got dropped before. In the beginning of his UFC career he was more kind of crazy. He fought like really like ‘The Hooligan’. Now he became a little bit gun shy. This is what I see. Maybe he’s going to try to wrestle me. I’m well prepared for everything and I’m excited for 15 minutes of violence.”
Haqparast isn’t going to get fancy or make any big changes for the fight with Mullarkey. He looks to be the fighter that got him to the dance in the first place.
“Just being my best. The fight is so much mentally because you prepare months, months, and months and then you just need to work,” he said.
“I am very confident in bringing my best performance on Saturday and I know that I’m better everywhere.”
