An interesting welterweight match-up has been booked for the UFC’s December 2, 2023 Fight Night.
After being forced out of a Noche UFC pairing with Shavkat Rakhmonov earlier this month, Kelvin Gastelum (17-8, 1NC) is now booked for the December card opposite Sean Brady (15-1).
News of the booking spread on social media late Saturday via MagicM MMA Bets, with Brady later confirming the match-up on his Instagram Story.
No official venue, location, or broadcast plan has been announced for the event.
Gastelum, a former Ultimate Fighter winner and interim title challenger (at middleweight) was last in action back in April, earning a unanimous decision win over Chris Curtis. That fight marked his first action in over a year, after missing all of 2022. In 2021, Gastelum dropped back-to-back fights against Jared Cannonier and Robert Whittaker.
After exiting the 170lb division following well-documented struggles making weight, Gastelum will return to the weight class for the bout. And he’s getting a top-10 ranked opponent right out of the gate, with Brady currently occupying the #9 slot in the promotion’s official rankings.
Brady suffered a TKO finish at the hands of Belal Muhammad last October, the first loss of his professional career. He has not fought since.
The UFC’s December 2, 2023 Fight Night event currently boasts the following reported fights:
- Jamey-Lyn Horth vs. Veronica Hardy

- Punahele Soriano vs. Dustin Stoltzfus
- Rob Font vs. Deiveson Figueiredo
