Las Vegas, NV – Coming into Noche UFC lightweight Christos Giagos finds himself playing spoiler against Daniel Zellhuber on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.
“My thoughts on my opponent I think he’s very talented,” Giagos told reporters including Cageside Press on Wednesday.
“I still think he’s young and there’s a lot of room for improvement, but I think I matchup really well with him because I’m well rounded. I’m good everywhere. I feel like anywhere the fight goes I’d have the advantage.”
It’s not that Giagos is overlooking Zellhuber. It’s that he’s been in the young lightweight’s shoes before.
“I was his age when I first got signed with the UFC and I made a lot of mistakes. I feel like there’s a lot of mistakes to be made by him and I think I’m going to be able to expose that,” he said.
Giagos will enter Noche UFC at T-Mobile Arena to a hostile crowd which will be mostly Mexican fans with it being Mexican Independence Day and having a lot of their own fighters on the card.
“That’s what I’m expecting, but it’s ok. Nothing that I haven’t experienced before. I fought in Russian against a Russian, I fought in Brazil against Brazilians. I fight in Sweeden, Australia,” he said.
“I’m a Spartan. I go to people’s land and I take over. I love to disappoint so it’s all good. I like being the underdog. It fires me up.”
