The ongoing Road to UFC 2 tournament returned on Sunday, with two episodes airing back-to-back, comprising the semifinal round of the four-weight class trial.
Road to UFC 2 Episode 6 consisted of five fights — semifinal action for the bantamweight and lightweight divisions, plus a featured flyweight bout to round out the event.
At least, it was to have consisted of five fights. But things did not go smoothly at weigh-ins, as lightweight semifinalist Bahatebole Batebolati weighed in at 161 pounds, well over the limit. As a result, South Korea’s Jaw Hyun Park was moved up from his featured lightweight fight against Quillan Salkilld to instead face Shin Haraguchi in semifinal action.
Also in action Sunday, former UFC fighter Rong Zhu, looking to win his way back to the promotion after going 1-2 inside the octagon in 2021-22.
