It seems like Noche UFC on Sept. 16 has been taking hit after hit, but now a big fight comes into the co-main slot as UFC welterweights Kevin Holland and Jack Della Maddalena have agreed to meet in the octagon.
First reported by @Standemup on X, confirmed by MMA Junkie.
Della Maddalena (16-2) won’t get to fight in his home country at UFC 293, but he does get a big fight in a co-main event spot at Noche UFC. He comes off a split-decision victory over short-notice opponent Bassil Hafez in July. He’ll look to gain even more momentum against Holland.
Holland (25-9) comes off a spectacular submission victory over Michael Chiesa at UFC 291 in July. No stranger to stepping into big fights on short-notice he gets this bout with about 4-weeks notice.
This fight is a welcome addition following multiple withdrawals including one just last night with UFC welterweight Daniel Rodriguez announcing on his Instagram that he has tested positive for Ostarine. His fight with Santiago Ponzinibbio was canceled.
Noche UFC takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV on Sept. 16th with a title headliner featuring flyweight champion Alexa Grasso defending her title against Valentina Shevchenko in a massive rematch in the 125-pound women’s division.
