Luis Palomino put his lightweight title on the line at BKFC 45 on Friday night, facing off against James Lilley in his latest title defense.
BareKnuckle Fighting Championship was in action live on Friday, June 23, 2023 streaming via FITE.tv and the BKFC App from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Palomino, who made his name in MMA with the World Series of Fighting (a precursor to the Professional Fighters League), had found a fresh lease on his fighting life in the bare-knuckle realm. The Peruvian-American, now 42, had twice fought Justin Gaethje for gold in the WSOF, coming up short on both occasions. And while he had ended his MMA run on an 0-4 skid, in bare-knuckle boxing, Palomino had a perfect 8-0 record, and two belts (lightweight and welterweight) to his name.
Lilley for his part had won four straight fights, three under the BKFC banner.
