Former Legacy FC flyweight champ and current UFC 125lb contender Andrea Lee will be headed to Boston for her next fight.
On Thursday, UFC officials announced a number of bouts for the UFC 292 card on August 19 at the TD Garden in Boston, MA, including Lee (13-7) versus Brazilian Natalia Silva (15-5-1).
“KGB” Lee is currently ranked #15 in the women’s flyweight division. Silva, meanwhile, is unranked, something of a glaring oversight that could be corrected with a win come August.
Having won nine straight fights, Silva has picked up victories in her first three trips to the UFC octagon. Most recently, she landed a TKO finish against Victoria Leonardo set up with a head kick. Silva also holds wins over Tereza Bleda and current #15-ranked flyweight Jasmine Jasudavicius, in Silva’s lone UFC fight to go the distance.
Lee will be looking to snap a two-fight skid in the fight, after dropping decisions to both Viviane Araujo and Maycee Barber. Prior to that she had claimed back-to-back wins over Antonina Shevchenko and Cynthia Calvillo.
UFC 292 is set to be headlined by a pair of title fights, with Aljamain Sterling defending his bantamweight title opposite Sean O’Malley, and Weili Zhang taking on Amanda Lemos with Zhang’s strawweight belt on the line.
