It appears that Jake Paul has agreed to Nate Diaz’s request to make their August 5, 2023 boxing match a 10-round affair.
The spectacle (or sideshow, depending on how you see the Celebrity Boxing/MMA boxing trend) sees Paul looking to bounce back from a loss to Tommy Fury by returning to his bread and butter: boxing older, smaller mixed martial artists who have never boxed professionally.
Enter Nate Diaz, the former UFC title challenger and fan favorite never one to turn down a fight. The 209 notable is still on the hook for choking out a Logan Paul lookalike recently, but the conditions of his bail are still allowing him to battle a real-life Paul brother.
On Tuesday, Jake Paul announced on Twitter that he had agreed to a 10-rounder with Diaz.
“Nate Diaz wants 10 rounds. I guess he has good cardio,” wrote Paul. “Ok Nathan, 10 rounds it is.”

Diaz (21-13 MMA, 0-0 boxing) was last in action in September, when he defeated Tony Ferguson in an extremely short notice fight atop UFC 279. The original main event of the card had featured Diaz booked opposite Khamzat Chimaev, only for Chimaev to badly blow weight.
Paul fell to 6-1 as a pro boxer when he suffered a split decision loss against Tommy Fury. Despite reportedly having a rematch clause, it appears the Diaz fight was more enticing — which might have something to do with Nate being 38 and a career lightweight and later welterweight.
Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz is expected to take place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on Aug 5.
